Congratulations to FCS Star Students Alexandra Perez (12th grade), Rebecca Menendez (8th grade) and Sofia Raurell (5th grade) who were honored by the Independent Schools of South Florida (ISSF) at a luncheon held at the Doubletree Hilton. The students were joined by their families as well as Mrs. Kerry Wicks, Middle School Principal, and Mrs. Maria Lehnhard, Elementary Principal. FCS is proud of these students for their academic and extracurricular accomplishments. Go Patriots!

Submitted by Mrs. Jeannine Stemmer, FCS Choral Director: Alex is an outstanding student. She is well-rounded in the areas of academics and fine arts. She is the student director for our top ensemble at Florida Christian and is also at the top of her class. It is a joy to work with her and I will be cheering her on as she moves on to college and continues to flourish.
Submitted by Mrs. Beth King, FCS P.E. Teacher and Varsity Volleyball Coach: Alexandra is a well-balanced student, using the many gifts and talents that God has given her for His glory. She had a crucial role this year on the varsity volleyball team as one of our starting outside hitters. She was a dependable teammate and has a great sense of humor. She not only excels in athletics, but in the arts and academically as well.

Submitted by Mr. Fernando Mesa, FCS Bible Teacher: Rebecca Menendez is an active member in the local church. She diligently participates in youth group, Bible studies, music ministry and worship services. She exudes responsibility through her involvement in school, extracurricular activities and the local church. She is passionate about helping people, but her zeal for the Lord exceeds all else. Her actions are evidence of her desire to know, walk in truth and be used by the Lord. Rebecca has achieved many recognition in band and she has studied piano for 9 years. She is Assistant Secretary in the Coral Gables Junior Music Club. She is diligent in her studies and is a hard-working young lady who loves God and serves Him well.

Submitted by Mrs. Susan Rubio, FCS 5th Grade Science Teacher: Sofia Raurell is an amazing fifth grade student who excels in the classroom and on the dance floor. Sofia dances Ballet, Jazz, Ballroom, Contemporary and Hip Hop! In fact, she practices 4 hours a day, 6 days a week and still manages to maintain all A’s in school. She has been dancing since she was 5 years old and has competed in many dance competitions – even one in China. Sofia loves learning and going to school. In fact, she says her goal in life is to become an attorney so that she can help people.
