Katelyn “Mimi” Godoy has signed with Florida Atlantic University becoming the first female soccer player at FCS to sign to play at a Division 1 college program.
Coach Simon Bazyler detailed Mimi’s career at FCS: “From the time Katelyn Godoy was in 1st grade, I knew we had a special player here at FCS. We held an elementary soccer clinic and Mimi put on a tremendous display of talent with the soccer ball. When she entered the 7th grade Mimi tried out and not only made the ladies varsity soccer team, but also earned a spot on the starting line-up. In 8th grade, she made the 2nd team Miami Herald All-Dade County team, and was selected to the 1st team her Sophomore and Junior season. We anticipate she will be selected to the first team once again this season.Throughout her time here at FCS she has amassed a record 68 goals and 23 assists both school records as well as most goals in a single season (20) her Junior year. Mimi was selected as the FCS Team MVP her 10th, 11th and 12th grade seasons.”
FCS congratulates Mimi as she moves on to this exciting adventure and asks God’s blessing on her.
