This course is designed to equip the students with practical skills for living on their own.
The first semester the students will learn to sew and complete sewing projects. This year, we have teamed up with Knitasquare.com. The KAS project is basically crocheting or knitting as an act of love for children. The main goal of the KAS project are:
1. To warm and comfort these children
2. To raise awareness of this mostly hidden human tragedy.
By contributing, we will not only make an AIDS orphan, abandoned or vulnerable child warm, we also intend to help to bring the plight of the children to the attention of whoever learns about this project.
The second semester the students will learn about nutrition and how to cook, as well as interior design, creative budgeting and consumerism. Practical skills in learning how to get along with others will also be taught.
