About Us
Our History
In June of 1968, a group of Christian parents met together and prayed that God would direct them in the establishment of a new Christian school in Miami. From that meeting came a ground swell of support that led to the purchase of a church building and surrounding property which was to become Florida Christian School. Florida Christian was established as a Christian school with a family atmosphere. Our curriculum is Christ-centered rather than man-centered, making Christ preeminent in every aspect of the educational program. It is a school where parental involvement is high and teachers are known to be loving and caring toward their students.
Even though there has been significant growth through the years, the same loving spirit still characterizes the school. From the first one hundred original students to the over eleven hundred of today, a common thread of pride in the school is blended with their appreciation for the faculty and staff who sacrificially have ministered to their students and to the community throughout the years.
Our mission is to develop well rounded students through excellent academics and extracurricular activities, while seeking to win the lost to Christ and equip Christians with the skills and the knowledge to change the world for Christ.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, Word of God, final in content and complete in revelation.
II Timothy 3:16
We believe that there is one God eternally existent in the persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I John 5:7
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ who took on human flesh, lived a sinless life, was crucified, buried and rose again, who ascended back to Heaven to make intercession for us, and who will return in power and glory.
II Corinthians 5:21
We believe that all men are sinful by nature and are in need of God’s salvation.
Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23
We believe man is saved by grace through faith in what Christ has done for us on the cross, not by anything we can do; it is a gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8-9
We believe that the child of God has been given a new nature at the time of salvation and is enabled to live a Godly life only by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
John 3:3-7, Galatians 5:17-26
We believe the obedient Christian has followed the Lord in believer’s baptism and is actively serving in the ministry of the local church.
Hebrews 10:25, Philippians 1:3-6
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.
Genesis 1:26-27
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.
Genesis 2:18-25

Accreditation & Memberships
The importance of accreditation is that it is an external, objective validation of school quality and student achievement that fosters continuous school improvement. Here at Florida Christian the process involves our entire FCS family. Administration, faculty, school board, parents, and students make contributions to the process. A school which wishes to be accredited applies to the state or regional association as a candidate for accreditation. That sets in motion a multi-year process involving a self-study by the institution together with a final review and report to the accrediting association. The self-study follows procedures and processes set forth by the accrediting commission. It is thorough, detailed and a blueprint both for accreditation and future success. The process is repeated on a cycle of years, (typically 5 – 7 years). Accreditation gives us the assurance that an independent, objective peer review of the school has been performed. Accreditation reassures us and our parents that the school has a plan in place to achieve its vision and attain its objectives. Accreditation is one more box that parents can check as they review schools which the feel might be a good fit for their children.
