Academics

Academics at FCS
We are dedicated to providing your child with an excellent education for them to reach the goals, dreams, and potential God has before them. We achievethis through a challenging curriculum, diverse enrichment programs, a STEAM program, an early emphasis on Phonics & Reading (AR®), and the 4C’s: Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication. To help meet our student's highest potential, we offer advanced grouping in each grade level.
Socially: Students who have a strong community of support always outperform those who are not given the opportunity. This intangible is our highest priority. We are more than just a school — we are a family. We are committed to fostering a family-oriented environment that consistently offers each student the loving support they need to thrive.
Physically: Physical Education is not only important for the health of our students but also for their academic achievement. Students who are healthy and have the ability to exert their natural energy are able to focus more on their classwork and perform better. PE, recess, healthy options for lunch in the cafeteria, and afterschool activities that promote health and fitness are all part of our school day.

Faith. Character. Success.
While helping our students grow in their faith and character is paramount, we do not foster those pillars at the expense of academic success.
In fact, we believe that excellence should be the mark of every Christian. We understand that performing with excellence not only allows us to honor God with our abilities, but it creates a pathway to success that provides a platform from which we can influence our world for Him. At Florida Christian, we give our students every opportunity to be successful in college and beyond.
The academic objectives of the school are clearly designed and delineated in the school’s academic manual and administered by the faculty and administration. Principals, department chairs, teachers, and curriculum staff continually work together across divisions and departments to implement researched, evidence-based practices and to create clear objectives for all courses that are both vertically and horizontally aligned to achieve maximum results. As your student grows, our team is intentionally planning each step to ensure that they are prepared for every new challenge.
Additionally, our staff is dedicated to a culture of Biblical immersion. The truth of Scripture is not merely limited to Bible class and chapels; we see God's hand at work in all subject areas, whether it be through the study of His glorious creation with the scientific method, the meticulously-ordered principals of Mathematics, or the gift of artistic and thoughtful expression through language and the humanities.
We believe that all academic pursuits are opportunities to learn about the truth and the nature of God, and our earnest endeavors serve to reflect and honor Christ as His image bearers.
Going Beyond
Many of our students choose to explore a field of study beyond the general college prep curriculum.
Beginning in elementary school, students can dive into STEAM education and engineering or take on the challenge of the elite Patriot STARS Program.
In middle school, future engineers can work with robotics and top academics can earn up to six high school credits and begin a Pre-AP® track.
By the time they reach high school, students can explore our Patriot Pathways where they can gain knowledge and skills toward a future career. Our top academics may take on College Board Advanced Placement® classes and even qualify for the prestigious Patriot Scholars Program, preparing them for the nation’s top universities.
