Patriot Proud Fundraiser Updates

Dear FCS Families,

We’re excited to share Patriot Proud Fundraiser Update #2 and give you a closer look at the progress happening across campus because of your generosity.

Since our last update, several projects have moved from planning into active development. Your support continues to make a visible impact on the spaces our students use every day, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us as we steward these funds with care. As Scripture reminds us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23), and that spirit guides each step of this work.

Progress Since Our Last Update

Main Campus Lockers
Ventilation installation has been scheduled for this school year, and the new lockers have been ordered. Installation for the new lockers will take place over the summer months.

Covered Walkways
This project has advanced into the vendor evaluation phase. Our team is actively meeting to finalize designs, timelines, and next steps for the covered walkways connecting the Athletic Training Room, Clinic, and Art classrooms to surrounding buildings.

Main Campus Playground – Phase 2
Design and preparation work continues as we move closer to the next phase of playground enhancements. A permanent basketball hoop and multiple outdoor activity features have been ordered to enrich the student experience in this area. We are currently in the bidding process to install a shaded structure over the main playground equipment. Final touches for Phase 2 also include: Landscaping, greenery and additional seating areas.

West Campus Enhancements
Over the break, we added greenery throughout the campus, along with benches, planters, and vinyl accents to create a more welcoming and refreshed environment for our West Campus Patriots. We will continue working to enhance this area, creating a space that our Little Patriots are proud of.

Elementary Technology Enhancements
112 tablets have been ordered for the Elementary Division. These tools will support classroom instruction and age-appropriate technology integration, equipping our youngest Patriots with resources that enhance learning while supporting our mission to educate the whole child—academically and spiritually.

We remain committed to keeping you informed as these projects move forward and to ensuring that every Patriot Proud dollar is used thoughtfully, intentionally, and prayerfully.

As excited as we are about these improvements, we are always even more encouraged by the daily Patriot Proud moments that truly make Florida Christian School special—moments where faith is lived out, character is formed, and students are reminded that they are known, loved, and called for a purpose, like the story below.

Heart Mending and Soul Changing

God’s timing is always perfect. We came to Florida Christian this year with our three boys entering 6th, 8th, and 9th grade—a BIG transitional year—while our family was also navigating a life-changing medical diagnosis. It was a lot to digest: leaving schools we knew and loved and starting over with new families, teachers, and friends. However, we chose to take that “leap of faith.” We knew this would be best for our boys, and we trusted that we needed to walk through the door God had opened for us.

We believed this would be a place where our boys would receive their daily dose of God and grow in their spiritual journey, surrounded by others doing the same—something we all needed more of and could not find in the public school setting. I share this story because the outpouring of love and support our boys, my husband, and I have received from the administrators and staff has given me countless “pinch-me moments.” Moments where I am in awe of the kindness and genuineness behind every action.

From follow-up phone calls checking in on how our boys were transitioning, to praying over our family time and time again, it has truly been food for our souls. During just the first week of school, my boys were reciting Bible verses, and it brought me to tears—validating that God knew our hearts needed mending. I have witnessed incredible growth in my boys’ spiritual journeys. Openly sharing their love for God with others has become the norm, and watching it unfold right before my eyes is truly a beautiful thing.

While I sought FCS for how it would change my boys, little did I know how much it would change me as well. Through the PTCF, I have already formed loving connections with new friends and families. We have been welcomed with open arms, which puts a giant smile on my face and warms my heart.

I say it time and time again: all the glory to God. It was in His perfect timing that our family became a part of the FCS Patriots family. Our souls are forever changed, and we are forever thankful that we took that leap of faith six months ago.

Eternally Grateful,
The Decena Family

While the work continues behind the scenes, we are grateful for the lasting impact these enhancements will have on our students, staff, and families—today and for generations to come.

Thank you for continuing to partner with us in strengthening Florida Christian School and in building a community rooted in faith, character, and success.

We look forward to sharing our next update as additional milestones are reached.

With gratitude,
FCS Advancement Department
